Whenever I complain to my father about how tough work is, or how strange people are these days, he always replies, "Well, that's life in the giggleweeds." Given the number of times I've heard that expression from my dad, I guess I must be spending a lot of time in the giggleweeds, probably ninety percent of my life, I'd guess. Thanks, dad, for giving me an apt title to this blog.

I was born in Tampa, raised in Miami, Orlando (pre-Disney), and finished college at USF in Tampa. Spent nine years in the Carolinas and happily returned to Brandon in 1983. Career-wise, I've been many things; shampoo girl, roofer, water-proofer, travelling teacher for a museum, planetarium director, cataloging librarian, educational services coordinator for the Tampa Tribune, and currently, a special events coordinator for the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Dept.
